Hello, my name is Daniel R. Born and raised in San Diego for all my life. Always enjoyed and want to continue living in this fine city for many reasons, being that the water and mountains close, and the weather and city here is great. The people here are fairly nice, well nicer than bigger cities, probably because there is a lot of diversity here and a lot of those with the same background as me, Filipino and Chamorro. Moving on, I never really found myself as an “artist” until I picked up a camera. After working hard everyday, I knew I could do anything I wanted. I’ve always enjoyed photography as long as I can remember. I wanted to learn how to take photos, and my dad wanted me to start taking photos too, but he offered me his point and shoot, and I declined it, because I wanted to take real photos, just like the professionals did. After seeing how much those cameras cost, I gave up the idea of taking photography. It was not until I found Tumblr, and stumbled onto Dunksrnice’s blog. Ever since that day, he has become one of my ultimate inspirations and motivations for photography and artistic outlook on life. From there, I revived the idea of photography and found my dad’s old 35mm Canon AE-1, and he let me have it. He told me to just find film and a battery, and so I did. I learned how to take photos manually (and shooting film), something that most people don’t learn or experience nowadays, since most think they can just buy a digital camera and suddenly start taking amazing photos. About a year later after constantly buying, exposing, and developing film, I decided it was time for me to broaden my horizons and take photography to a whole new level. I purchased my own DSLR before Christmas, taking advantage of those sales. I currently now own the T3i with kit lens and amateur telephoto lens. As money being tight, I’ll keep working towards new opportunities to further my knowledge and abilities in taking photos and in life. Photography has grown into something bigger in my life as time passes by, becoming more passionate, it now revolves around my whole life.
