Photography is about catching moments, especially those extraordinary moments that we happen to glimpse ever so briefly, so that we can share them, so that others can experience them. Knowing these moments are out there, photographers track them down and hunt them; waiting for life to fall into place just so, angling to create the perfect composition for their art, and revelling in their capture. It takes a keen eye and a fertile imagination to envision the remarkable and an almost psychic ability to predict a few seconds into the future so that the moment is caught alive. You only have to flick through a couple of his snaps to see that Dripta Roy has mastered his art. His photography spans across genres from portraits and sports to landscapes and street shots.

“Moments pass in the blink of an eye. I like the challenge of creating and finding the image I have in my mind, of trying to be able to anticipate it. But the actual capture of it, is about being quick and ready when the moment’s there. It’s a rush and the end result can be really gratifying or a frustrating disappointment.” - Dripta Roy
