Hi. I have been shooting since 1971. I bought my first camera at the PX while serving in Vietnam. It was a Yashica SLR with Pentax type thread mount. A lot of water has passed under the bridge since then and I'm happy and very blessed to say that I'm still shooting 50 years later and I'm still learning. I never stop learning. Photography is a passion for me. I just love taking photos no matter what the subject. I can't say that I have a particular style or penchant for certain subjects, although I do tend to shoot more landscape and travel type photos.

There has been a lot of water under the bridge and 3 different camera systems since I first joined Flickr in 2012. I began here as a Nikon shooter. I've always loved Nikon. They were my first choice when I had enough money to buy a good SLR. Started with the F2 and I still have it and use it occasionally. I still own and use most of the Nikkor lenses adapted to my current Fujifilm system. After I got into digital from film I stuck with Nikon and used a D800 with the holy trinity of lenses. Until one day on a photo workshop in Arches. Our leader had just purchased a Sony A7rii. He let me compare the weight of my Nikon system to the Sony system and he let me use the camera for a bit. Wow what a difference a mirrorless camera makes compared to a DSLR. I was sold. In the spring of that year Sony and B&H had a deal that was too good to pass up. I was selling B&H all my Nikon gear and also getting trade in rebate from Sony. I dove into their system until 2 years ago when the Sony system became too heavy to lug around. I wanted something smaller and lighter. A friend recommended I try the Fuji system. So I thought why not. I like the idea of using different film simulations and shooting jpeg images straight out of camera. I bought a used Fujifilm X-Pro2 and two lenses from KEH. Them in 2020 I went on the a photo workshop to Durango, Silverton and Telluride with coincidentally the same instructor who sold me on Sony. On the first day of shooting I found that he to had switched from Sony to Fuji. I still had my Sony system and as an experiment I dragged it along with me on this photo workshop. That camera and lens system never left the trunk of my car.

So today I'm very proud to say that I am a Fujifilm shooter. I know i will not leave this ecosystem because they check all the boxes and I'm extremely happy with the images I'm producing. As you're scouring my photostream you will no doubt see images posted recently that are from both the Nikon and Sony system. One reason for that is that I set a goal for myself this year to "really go through and archive" all of my photos from my Lightroom catalog. As I do, I post those I like here.

Thanks to all those who choose to follow me now and those who will join me in the future.
