I believe that I am suitable for this course because I am passionate about all aspects of art but especially art as a form of story-telling. I am a very creative person and attend a drama school on Saturdays where, as well as getting lead roles, I participate in set and costume design and contribute ideas to the script. I am currently designing the program for our Christmas production of the Pied Piper which will be my first commissioned work. I will also be playing flute in this production which I have studied to grade 5. I particularly enjoy the flute music of Joe Hisaishi and the illustrations of Hayao Miyazaki both who have influenced me in my own art work.

, I write stories and hope to one day write and illustrate my own children’s books. I have a lot of ideas that I am excited to start working on. For the Arts Award at college I am designing and creating a graphic novel retelling a Greek myth. I have studied Greek Mythology and wish to retell these stories through my art.

I participated in a week’s course in Art and Design at Kingston University where we undertook a different form of graphic design each day. This was a very enjoyable course and reconfirmed my wish to study the Art Foundation.

I really feel that this foundation course would be best suited to me as I am dedicated to art. It will provide me with a sound basis to finalise and develop my artistic skill and knowledge, and help me to achieve my career ambitions.
