A member of the American Medical Association (AMA) as well as Neurocritical Care Society (NCS) and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), Dr. Denise Cruse is a well-established member of the medical community. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine and Duke University, Dr. Denise Crute set her sights on medicine early. After receiving her M.D., Dr. Denise Crute completed a postdoctoral neurophysiology fellowship in the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Department of Physiology. Dr. Denise Crute went on to Northwestern Memorial Hospitals, where she completed an internship in General Surgery and residency in Neurological Surgery. She later completed a Neurocritical Care fellowship at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York.
Dr. Denise Crute serves as a fellowship trained neurointensivist, neurophysiologist, and board-certified neurosurgeon. She is also an artist, illustrator, and author, with her work most recently appearing on the cover of Currents, the Neurocritical Care Society's Newsmagazine
