Hi. My name is Claudio, and I am Canadian, and I live in Waterloo, Ontario.

 

I am a Flickr Newbie- I have been very private my entire life. The concept of sharing my photos with anyone (everyone) on an anonymous medium like this takes some getting used to! However, it is a leap of faith to share and hope for the best, and like the Googleites say "Do no evil"

 

 

I have thousands of pictures which I cannot share. These are photos of patients whom I have treated over a lifetime of surgery. I have great series of photos of patients who were victims of terrible tragedies ( accidents, burns, explosions) documenting their appearance in the Emergency Room and their transformation during the recovery process until ready for discharge. I also have great sets of pictures of patients undergoing cosmetic surgery, documenting their changes, but again, I would never violate patient confidentiality so only those photos which were released to me by the patient can be viewed (these are on my website). Most of my photography work is medical, but I do love to spend some time on this hobby in my off hours, and thats the purpose of this account.

 

Equipment: Most of the time, I travel with my Canon 1D MIII with the 24-105 f4 and the 16-35 f2.8 MII and the 70-200 f4 lenses (these are the most versatile for what I do). Alternatively, I take my 40D and rarely my 20D. If I just don't have room, I will pack at least one point and shoot. My favorite lenses are (in no particular order, apart from those mentioned above) include almost all Full Frame L glass: 85 mm f1.2/ 135 f2/ 300 f4/ 100-400 f4-5.6/ 24 f1.4/ 50 f1.4/ 100 mm f2.8 etc etc plus a few EFS lenses Canon 10-22 etc and and a Sigma 12-24 f4-5.6. Over the years, my equipment evolved from pinholes, to Fujica, then Pentax, then Olympus (OM2S p then OM4) then Nikon (F90, F4 etc). All that stuff is pretty much gone now, and i am completely digital. I use a MacPro Xeon Quad Core with 16 GB RAM and ATI 3870/ ATI x1900 video cards with 3 monitors and 6 TB hard disk space. I use Aperture & CS3 mostly, but I don't like editing all that much.
