ABOUT DRBC: Managing, Protecting and Improving the Basin's Water Resources since 1961

Created in 1961, the Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC) is a federal/interstate government agency responsible for managing the water resources within the 13,539 square-mile Delaware River Basin without regard to political boundaries. The five commission members are the governors of the basin states (Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania) and the commander of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' North Atlantic Division, who represents the federal government.

In addition to water supply and conservation, project review/permitting, flood loss reduction, flow and drought management, and planning, DRBC has robust water quality programs that protect the existing high water quality of the river's non-tidal section and help maintain and improve the water quality of the river's tidewaters.

This Flickr site will be primarily used to highlight DRBC monitoring activities, which support commission water quality programs, as well as DRBC education/outreach initiatives and general Delaware River Basin photos.
