I came across drakegoodman's Flickr page while doing a google image search for WWI Stahlhelm. The sheer quantity & range of images is just incredible & the content very thought provoking and sobering. The superb scan quality as well as the interesting, detailed and well researched captioning is on par with the best WWI German references I've seen, printed or online. I say this having been struck and intrigued by the tragic story of WWI, going back to my earliest childhood memories of the Australian War Memorial in Canberra - a place I still can't help but frequent (even though over the last three decades so much of its original WWI display has been unjustly left buried in storage, all too often to be sadly mislaid altogether it would seem). It's cheering to have made contact with a fellow WWI aficionado from Aussieland. A truy inspirational countryman.

Whenever I think I'm suffering from a bout of Trench Fever, I have a quick browse through Drakes quite honestly phenomenal collection of postcards and photographs and realise I should be back at the front, not at casualty clearing lazing about on my Tommy arse at all. Good work that digger.
