I provide a web site that will provide you with a “Pattern Design Sequence/Color Combination” series based upon your name, whether it is your first name, middle name or even your last name, if your name falls into one of these categories:
American Indian, Andalusia, Anglo Saxon, Arabic, Armenian, Assyrian, Australian Aboriginal, Basque, Biblical, Celtic, Chinese, Cornish, Czech, Egyptian, English, Esperanto, Finnish, French, Gaelic, German, Germanic, Greek Mythology, Greek, Hawaiian, Hebrew, Hindu, Hopi, Irish, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latin, Maori, Melanesian, Middle English, Middle French, Navajo, Norwegian, Old English, Old French, Old German, Old Norse, Old Spanish, Persian, Polish, Polynesian, Portuguese, Russian, Sanskrit, Scandinavian, Scottish, Slavonic, Spanish, Sumerian, Swahili, Swedish, Teutonic, Thai, Tibetan, Tonkinese, Turkish, Vietnamese, or Welsh – there are 6,438 individual names.
Inside this three-part Catalog you will find a design sequence specially developed for your name. The base design will be in Traditional Watercolor, then you get two options: Liquidified Lipstick: Cooled and Mosaic Enamel, which I created just for this exposure. Then you will get one pattern representing the Traditional Watercolor style and then it just steam rolls from there.
Here is how it is done:
Take any Traditional Watercolor design image. The medium is parchment paper, 25lbs weight. I have a selection of Mechanical Drawing pens from a couple different companies. They have little cartridges inside the tubes that allow you to change the color of ink as necessary.
All the ink work is done on the front of the parchment page and can take upwards of 14 hours to create one design, lot of detail work involved. I have an inset lighted glass panel in my drawing table. Turn the parchment paper over so the inked side is facing downward and the unused side is facing upwards and the light, beams through the parchment, highlighting the inked lines of the design.
Now you are ready to paint. So the paint I use is the cheapest I could find: Trang Watercolors. They come is sets of 6, 12, 18, and 24 and then there are really big containers of it in primary and fluorescent colors that you can use to mix new colors, tints, and hues, for your work. At one time I had 200 of those little containers on my worktable. Now all you have to do is know how to paint backwards. Think you can do that? Paint backwards – sounds simple – isn’t.
Visualize a person’s face; what is the first thing that you see? You should say their nose, for it sticks out the furthest, so you paint that first and simply back your way out the design. Eventually you have a layered effect of different colors in different portions of your design. When it is finished, the side you painted, looks like a 5 yrs. old had a field day. The fact that I chose parchment is that wet things soak into it – like ink and paint. They blend themselves into the weave of the parchment. When the Trang Watercolor paint is wet it is one color, when it dries it becomes a different hue or tint from the color it was when wet, then it is another color after it blends with the weave of the parchment paper. So when you are choosing creating new colors you have to keep this in mind. The paint while simple in nature is more complicated than it looks when applied to parchment in the way that it dries. When you do it right you get some very nice effects, like the layering effect I employ – but that’s a secret.
Liquidified Lipstick now there’s a style. You know that is just tubes of lipstick melted down to liquid form, spread really thin over a wide area and let to cool. In most cases you already have a template from the inked design to work with, so you know which areas have to be dug or sculpt out to which colors. In a situation like this I can’t use brushes – have to come up with something else. That became a set of dental tools. Those little picks that the dentist uses to explore your mouth. It is delicate work. I have fifteen to twenty designs being worked on at the same time. Takes a lot of time, do a little bit here and then move and do little somewhere else.
The reasons for Liquidified Lipstick and the Mosaic Enamel styles are that, all other patterns I have ever seen are flat. So I built these designs to show depth, perception, and perspective. The image is still flat, it just doesn’t have to appear that way. I added highlights and shadows.

I am quite sure that every woman, on all of my sites, all have one thing in common – they each know what the inside of a Thrift Store looks like, intimately. A friend of mine swears by this site and here is how he uses it. He buys from this site and then turns around and re-sells whatever the item is on Ebay and I bet that a lot of you stay at home women could do the same thing. He actually makes a living at it for the last two years since the Construction Industry died in the Pacific Northwest. www.shopgoodwill.com/. I had to have this explained to me because at first it didn’t make sense. Consider all the things that a large Non-Profit like Goodwill receives as donations each year. Have you got that image floating through your head, now? Consider the type of items you see on their racks in their stores. Then think a little about the items that are too small or too valuable to be placed on racks – where are those items sold? Right here. Check out these categories, Girls:
Computers and Electronics – 1307, Antiques – 171, Art – 1755, Books/Movies/Music – 2411, Cameras and Camcorders – 502, Clothing – 4701, Collectibles – 4263, Crafts and Hobbies – 399, Glass – 840, Home Décor – 1749, Jewelry/Gem Stones – 2722, Miscellaneous – 850, Musical Instruments – 388, Religious Items – 193, Seasonal /Holidays – 177, Sports – 584, Tableware/Kitchenware – 2224, Tools – 93, Toys/Dolls/Games – 1608, and Transportation – 101, and yes they have cars.
So School starts for many of you in 45 or 50 days and then how long until Christmas? My friend buys Computers/Electronics and Cameras/Camcorders from Goodwill and then goes through Ebay and resells to the global customer base. Lately he has been buying laptops running the Linux Operating System for about $150, we take a look at it – update it as necessary and then resell at over $500, how could you not make money. If you are unfamiliar with the Linux system your learning curve might be a little steep but worth the ride. Web servers that you use every day when you use the Internet are running on Linux Operating Systems. Essentially all those Apple vs. PC commercials are a joke to most experienced computer users because neither of those Operating Systems can compare with the functionality of a Linux System. As such he is having a hard time keeping up with the demand for these laptops. The other thing he likes to buy is the little digital camera – he can get those for about $10 bucks and turn around and resell them on Ebay for $50 to $100 bucks.
How could you not make money, Girls? Simply consider it your option for the week.
