I got my first camera when I was 10 years old - a GDR model that worked purely mechanically and without any automatic controls. Exposure settings and the distance to the subject were estimated and then adjusted. As a result, there were some blurred or not quite successful shots. I still have this little treasure today and it still works reliably.

I started my serious photography hobby over 20 years ago when I bought a “proper camera” for my first vacation to America to take better landscape photos. At that time I was still using an analog SLR camera, which was replaced by a digital one a few years later.

A lot has happened since then. I am constantly improving my photographic skills and knowledge through professional exchanges in photography forums and workshops.

After a few photo trips with landscape photography (21 US states, 3 Canadian provices, several European countries around our German home, ...), I finally found joy in portrait photography and specialized in children and family photos over the years.
