I've been a fairly keen amateur photographer for quite a few years. I've had a few of my photos published (typically accompanying articles I've written -- I'm a journalist), but for the most part I'm involved in photography for the love of the hobby.

It's always a bit tricky defining one's "style" -- but I do especially enjoy the challenge of evening and night-time photography, including astrophotography. I am also inclined toward "urban landscapes" -- though i realize this is a broad term, perhaps with no clear definition! I also love to travel, so "travel photography" (hopefully more than mere snapshots!) makes up a significant part of my collection.

I primarily shoot 35 mm slide film, using an old manual-focus Minolta SLR and a variety of lenses.

I also have a few point 'n shoot cameras, including the Canon PowerShot S-70, as backup. Because it's so easy to post digital photos here, I will post some of them "just for fun." As for my scanned slides, however, I will make a concerted effort only to post the best ones.

(I am new to flickr, so this site is just in the "beginning phase" of construction.)
