I am a commercial photographer who has been at it for decades now.

Weened in a catalogue studio shooting cosmetics, off figure goods, roomsets and more. That was in the days of film and the film of choice was 8 X 10 inch transparency film. The lights where hot and heavy.

Spent my formative years with an ad agency shooting national brands stepping down to 4 X 5 inch transparency film as my goto medium of choice and studio strobes for my light source.

I went freelance just prior to the advent of digital and was an early adopter with the fujii s2pro. Catalogue, brochure, event, and sundry retail assignments make up the bulk of my current professional activity. I shoot the bulk of that work with a Nikon D600.

For pleasure I enjoy camping, travel, cycling and taking pictures while engaged in these activities.

Recently I started cycling along the Nokiidaa Trail which runs through the town I live in. This unbroken trail runs over 20k and passes through urban parkland which host all kinds of recreational activities as well as natural environments which comprise forest, fields and marshes. I began dragging along my photography kit on these rides to document the breadth of life I encountered along the trail.

I have come to know several photographer who regularly stake out this tail. We swap stories of our accomplishment; what we've missed and what we still hope to capture and trade links to our pictures. This pool of knowledge has lead to photographic opportunities and practices which spur us to take more and better images.

I have landed here to share my personal work with the local community and the larger community here on Flickr whom hold similar interests to encourage and be encouaged by those communities.
