Douglas Bezerra Lopes, photographer, visual artist, photography director and videomaker, born and raised in Morro do Timbau, one of the 16 communities that consist the group of Favelas da Maré, located in the Northern area of Rio de Janeiro. In 2007, Douglas studied with INFRAERO and CEASM – center of studies e solidarity actions of Maré – and from 2013 to 2014 studied at Escola de Cinema 5 Visões, the institution of technical training, specialized on cinema’s camera.

Photographer of Lona Cultural da Maré, from 2013 to 2017. Photographer of the Maré’s communitary newspaper from 2017 to 2020; photographer and videomaker of Redes da Maré from 2017 until nowadays. In 2014 did the photo assistance on the video Na Yawa – Oghene Kologbo (participant in the competitive exhibition of videoclips at Curta Brasília 2014). In 2020 signed the photography direction of Marielle – o documentário [the documentary] with the direction of Caio Cavechini and Eliane Scardovelli for Globoplay (winner of the 5th ABRA script award, in the category of Best Script for Documentary Show). Also in 2020, signed the photography and the interviews of the Unifavela – o ENEM, a favela e o Coronavírus, video for InterceptBrasil (winner of the 4th ABMES award of journalism, in the category of Nacional Video). In 2021 signed the photography of the “E Você Diz” music video by the artists Frejat, Jards Macalé and Luiz Melodia, in the same year, signed the direction and the photography direction for the mini doc “É Preciso Estar Vivo Para Viver”, thought especially for the International Day of Human Rights for the 3rd Campaign Somos da Maré! Temos Direitos! [We are from Maré! We Have Rights!]
