First and foremost, thank you for visiting my work, or even one of my individual pictures. Out of all the great work on this site, I am honored you chose to take an interest in mine. Please leave a comment as to what caught your eye, so I know what I am doing right...
I have grown to appreciate the difference between someone who takes pictures and a photographer. The first snaps images to record the shape, the moment, an interesting event, etc. Photographers (on the other hand) use their talent to capture time, movement, focus, light (or lack thereof), color, culture, humor, serenity, seeking out unique (or different) perspectives that are out of the ordinary, that make the viewer see things, moments, events, objects from a different point of view and interact with the captured image. Thank you for the opportunity to practice here!
My first camera was a "secret agent" camera that came inside a toy briefcase when I was 5. The year after I got married, my wife got me a Nikon FG-30 for our first anniversary. For our 25th anniversary, and after several P&S Digital cameras, my wife got me a Nikon D5000 with two starter lenses (AF-S Nikkor 18-55G VR, and AF-S Nikkor 55-200 ED). [April 2013 Update - upgraded to an AF-S Nikkor 13-300 and a Vivitar Series 1 - 2x Teleconverter, with a Nikon D5100, which was exchanged due to a problem during one of my regular maintenance cycles.]
That gift started me over again as a photographer, and in the first year I took over 12,000 pictures, a few of which I can say I am proud to call my own. I learned late 2011 about this community, and I look forward to sharing with y'all... I am studying the ins and outs of photo processing and trick photography, and I am interested in feedback on my images. Please do so to help me become a better photographer, or let me know when I have hit it just right.
