I used a film SLR only for about a year, before I realised most people were moving over to DSLR. That first year was strewn with poor photos, but I didn't know what to do about it. The learning really started with the Canon 350D DSLR. Immediate feed-back for my efforts was the key. Since then I've read, copied and shamelessly thrust my photos on friends and family. I've found my niche now, in shooting mostly landscapes and cityscapes. I like to try and find a slightly different view on things, but realise there's nothing new in this world. I don't care that there may be thousands of photos of popular landmarks and critics saying "it's been done before" - not by me, it hasn't.
