Hello there, And thanks for stopping by for a visit. Please do read on……
I am a landscape photographer based in Los Angeles, California and was introduced to image editing in 1989 through the family's printing business. After graduating from the Digital Prepress Institute in 1993, I spent the next 28 years as a professional photoshop retoucher and instructor and have taught Photoshop on a corporate and private level. My work for Disney Worldwide, Paramount Pictures, Universal Studios, and NBC can be seen on television, in print, and online, all over the world. I have earned over a million dollars using Photoshop during my career and have processed images by Galen Rowell, Art Wolfe, Bryan Paterson, and many, many others.
As a youth, I spent over a decade exploring the Eastern Sierra Nevada with my father and friends. I discovered mountaineering and free-climbing in 1980 and spent several years climbing in Joshua Tree and Yosemite National Parks. My passion for photography and enthusiasm to teach it has been said by my students to be both “infectious and endearing”. Highly proficient at Virtual Scouting and Weather Prediction, I have spent the last three years scouting and shooting all over the Western United States and have made it my personal mission to share my photography and knowledge with others.
I am also a brand ambassador for Promedia Gear, so if your looking for a solid tripod, let me know and I can help you find the model thats right for you.

One of the things I appreciate most about Eric is that he is constantly reaching out to new photographers and is always eager to help out when asked. Even though I have been at this for awhile now, Eric's advice on scouting, specifically with google maps and Gaia GPS, has been invaluable. He has also, quite literally, given me the shirt off his back. OK....maybe not his shirt, but I have borrowed a jacket, some gloves, a tripod, some batteries....he is always prepared and always has extras in case his friends run low or forget something. Eric's day job involves working with photoshop sometimes upwards of 18 hours a day, so his post processing skills are off the hook. I have also watched him lead countless mini workshops in low level lighting as we constantly have run into other photographers when shooting the Milky Way. So glad I ran into this guy last year and I count it a privilege to call him my friend. If you have any questions regarding post processing, Lightroom shortcuts, luminosity masks or the ability to get under the hood of Google Eart, Eric is your guy. Send him an email, and he will be more than happy to help you out.

Flickr has many very talented photographers displaying their amazing images; but it has also been the source for me to meet and become friends with some pretty special individuals - Eric is one of these! Apart from his obvious skills photographically, Eric takes the time to inform viewers how he created the image, or captured the scene we view. He also is very considered in his praise, advice and critique of our images. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Eric for sharing his work, time and friendship here on flickr to me and others; and I would highly recommend you make the time to view through Eric's collection here. It is truly inspirational. He is continuing to develop new skills and techniques and I look forward to seeing what he has crafted every opportunity I get to review his stream. Once again Eric, I thank you for your friendship and sharing of your time and gifts here on flickr. Regards, Archie.
