What a great eye for detail. There is a certain dry, dark humor in many of his photos that is hard to explain. I see irony and a jaundiced eye, but then again, a tinge of hope. I enjoy thinking about him prowling about the local neighborhoods, finding a dirty beauty in the little things that go unnoticed by others.
I love exploring ~db~'s work. Take some time and look around. Wherever you live, you will start to see your surroundings in a new light.

I *so* look forward to seeing ~db~'s latest on flickr when I log in. As a fellow Angeleno (Los), I can really appreciate his eye for the details that make up Los Angeles and especially the Valley. The compositions are simple, but elegant. The colors are few but bold and distinct. I find myself drawn to the same sort of set ups that he shoots, but when I look at his photos, I often think "hmm, I wouldn't have thought of shooting it THAT way!" Great stuff. If you've never been to LA, you can get a feel for the real deal through his shots. If you live here, then you know what they're about.
