never been one for these 'describe yourself boxes' but, after losing a number of contacts, i thought maybe i should 'describe' myself - cause i am sensitive like and it stings to lose contacts after being open about who i am ;..( so while this is SO *not* the most important thing about me, it seems to be *very* important to others... i'm queer. omg that just sounds geeky to say! BUT, if you can't handle images of gay family life, don't ask me to make you a 'friend', kay? seriously, i am super sensitive - i like to pretend that this world is a beautiful one and that difference is accepted, embraced, cherished... didn't we all read that sesame street book about being different but the same? jeez! so, if you make me a contact, ask me to make you a contact, please don't burst my pretty little bubble. we are just two chics raising kids like anyone else... we love them, celebrate them, be the best that we can for them just like *any* parent.

love (and cheese) makes a family

we are silly, geeky too, but just not scary!

what i think *is* important about me... defines me...

that i am a

woman

mother

partner

lover

friend

sister

daughter

virgo - really - this defines me! if you are going to not like me, do it because i am a virgo! we are a rough crowd, us virgos. we are moody, perfectionists who can make anyone INSANE!

what is most important to me...

my children

my partner

my family

love

laughter

passion

beauty

respect

honesty

generosity

compassion

tolerance

simplicity

peace

enough of me.

also, i had to make most of my pics f&f. totally sucks because i really like sharing in this community. after finding my daughter's pic on a stranger's blog, claiming she was hers, i just *had* to do something to keep that from happening again. i really am bummed tho, it is so important, i think, to share visions of family, friendship... life. if you'd like to be added to my f&f list, email me.

So, I was feeling uninspired, uncreative and like a total talent-less hack today. When I feel that way, I usually come to Flickr and peruse the stream of someone I find very inspiring. So, I was feeling uninspired, uncreative and like a total talent-less hack today. When I feel that way, I usually come to Flickr and peruse the stream of someone I find very inspiring. Today that stream happened to be the lovely Donna's. Donna is easily one of the best artists on Flickr; she's one of those people who seemingly is unaware of how amazingly brilliant they are. And those kinds of photographers are my favorite kind. I could stare at her images all day. They are truly alive, and truly awe-inspiring.

Donna's pics are moody, subtle, cinematic and totally honest. No pretending, not even one bit. Love that.
