Don Carter is the author/illustrator of seven picture books for children. He is also the creator of two Disney animated short-form series, Happy Monster Band and Dance-A-Lot-Robot. His first book, Wake Up House! by Dee Lillegard was named one of the New York Public Library’s “100 Titles for Reading and Sharing” in 2000. School Library Journal also listed the book in their “Best Books 2000.” Publishers Weekly in a starred review wrote, “Visually striking...Carter makes his children's book debut with arrestingly tactile, sculptural illustrations.” Get To Work Trucks has been named a “Best Book of the Year” by Child Magazine and a “Top 100 Book of 2002” by the New York Public Library. Don’s Heaven's All-Star Jazz Band celebrates the pioneers of jazz and has received a starred review from Kirkus Reviews. Don is also creative director with Adams & Knight, an integrated marketing and communications firm based in Avon, Connecticut. He lives in New England with his wife, two children and a one-eyed yellow lab.

  

Edgar Allan Slothman is the fine art persona of American award-winning ad agency creative director, children’s book illustrator and TV creator, Don Carter.

 

Edgar Allan Slothman’s world is one filled with monsters, sloths, robots, birds and other strange beings. In a simple, bold graphic style, Edgar gives us glimpses of this captivating world through toys, patterns, apparel, and accessories. He is also in the process of recreating Audubon’s Birds of America (400+) prints in his own modern style.
