My favorite photographer of all time is Imogen Cunningham. I have a book that is a collection of her best work. I only really like six of the pictures, so if you get even a one word comment from me, you've done something really good. But then you knew that without being told.
Usually when I "favorite" a picture it's not because I really like it, but because there is something about it that I want to remember: a location, the composition, or some technique. That said, I don't favorite bad pictures, but the really good ones will get a comment too.
I guess I'm a luddite. I don't "capture" images. I take photographs. I don't like groups where you give awards that have gaudy images attached. Particularly, I don't like groups where you are required to favorite or comment on a minimum number of other people's pictures. It's annoying to have to scroll through several screens of these annoying icons attached to picture that I've favorited. Besides, a picture should get a comment or a favorite on its own merit, not simply because the next five photographers that posted to the group had to comment on your picture.
