Self Portrait

I'm Zahir Hossain Khan with a buddy name "Rupkothar Doitto". I'm not a giant in size, but I eat like a shark. I like to spend my time with hi-tech stuff. I love to sleep, but i don't waste more than 4 hours a day in sleeping, as i think if I do so then some beautiful moments will be lost, which I could have been captured in my camera. From early childhood I used to play with the lens cover, as well their ND filter and Star filter of my uncle's SLR camera. May be that's why I'm crazy about photography. Actually photography is in my blood, its my passion. Though I don't list out my name as a good photographer. Its not my job, its my hobby. Some of my photo published in some daily's, such as New Ages, Business Times, even in International OXFAM Magazine. I use Nikon FM10 as film SLR. But, I prefer Canon as DSLR camera. I wish to be a good photographer so that I can highlight the beauty of Bangladesh in front of the world.

Zahir. But he is calling himself "Rupkothar Doitto". Is this a problem? I don't think so. I call myself "Rakhal Cheley". As I always wanted to be a Rakhal Cheley. The problem is, whatever you wanted to be in life, you never manage to succeed. Your parents, siblings, friends and family, everybody around you would like to see you in a different identity which is very much different than what you wanted to be. Its a saaaad life! Zahir wanted to be called, "Rupkothar Doitto". I don't believe someone can dream of being a Dracula. Having said that he liked to be known as a Fairy tales' Dracula, not an ordinary one. Again, its a young persons' fascination. When Doitto was born, I was a businessman in Bangladesh (not a big one though). Doitto. He is, what not? A knowledgeable person in IT, keeps a wealth of information on todays' technology. He knows a lot about cameras and lenses. Took some wonderful images already, while keeping a fascination to take photographs that would make him more happy one day. A fun loving adorable and well presented personality to his group, friends and family, also to the people that he knows. He talks nicely with everyone however, he is very casual when it comes to interact with the people he considers very close to him. He is easy when he gets critics on his work although, I don't criticise peoples work as my conception on improving my work is different. I see peoples work and learn to do better. I am sure, many of us do the same. I understand that Doitto took some beautiful shots when he was on his own with his camera with an intention to take some photos uninterrupted. I would advise him to continue this as I am one of those. Some of my own work that I kind of liked, I took them while I was on my own with my camera, walking alone miles. Then again, how safe is this where Doitto lives, that is a big issue to consider. However, nowhere is safe heaven. Anything can go wrong anywhere in the world. We must avoid wrong places in wrong time. We don't have to take our camera everywhere we go. Doitto, you are your best manager. You decide. Although it is personal but this is the way it is. Doitto likes me very much so do I. We have enough of diplomacy in our workplace. We take stress, pressure and so forth. We don't want this in our personal and social life. Hence photography is our passion, it is our breathing space also. I don't make money out of photography. People who do, I have every respect for them and they would take it very seriously which is understandable. I like Doitto because he doesn't make a big fuss for what he does with his photographic tools. I don't have problem if someone still my photos and make some money; my pleasure, if somebody can do this. I am sure, Doitto has the same conception. A real photographer is holy soul. His/her inner vision will be expressed through the work produced. It is a journey which is never ending but throughout this journey some people will know, you are a great human being, Doitto. Even if, for some reason, I am not in touch with you still, you will know that I am always with you. Carry on young man! You have another 27 years to get to my age. By this time, what you will be able to do in photography, I can only be thrilled even thinking of this.
