I am a professor of Mass Communication at Winona State University in southeastern Minnesota. I teach journalism, photojournalism, public relations, publication design, and media courses.

In my classes, I suggest that pictures of people are almost always more interesting than pictures of things. My images on Flickr explore the significance of place. I'm especially interested in studying and preserving places considered sacred by American Indians, the original people of North America.
