Docs In Progress® is a 501c3 non-profit arts organization dedicated to empowering and incubating independent documentary filmmakers. We help them make better films by giving them the tools to foster and improve their storytelling skills in all stages of the filmmaking process. Filmmakers are equipped with new ideas, a support network, and renewed confidence to complete their films and go on to acquire funding successfully, be accepted into film festivals, and sell their films to broadcasters, distributors, educational institutions, and the general public.

Among our programs: moderated public screenings of documentary works in progress in Washington DC and Baltimore, MD; training classes and professional development workshops on all aspects of documentary-making; online resources with tips of the trade for doc-makers; and one-on-one consultations for filmmakers who need help turning an idea into a proposal, a proposal into funding, raw footage into a cohesive story, or a rough cut into a masterpiece.
