“DMN” is a world renowned graffiti artist and freelance muralist from Chicago. He embarked on his artistic journey at an early age in the inner city neighborhoods, spray painting his nom de plume “Demon” on the walls and elevated trains of Chicago. Although never receiving formal training, he has worked on numerous projects, murals and art related events across the country and internationally. Since 1994, he has painted for organizations like the Chicago Park District and Chicago Public Schools, as well as, local businesses and large companies like Ecozini Couture and Red Bull Energy Drink. His artwork has been displayed in group and solo shows at galleries in Chicago like Peter Mars Gallery and Elastic Arts Foundation, along with CreWest Gallery in Los Angeles, CA. and Old Crow Gallery in Oakland, CA. Currently he is an organizer for the international graffiti event “Meeting Of Styles” which takes place in over a dozen cities throughout the globe during the summer, this will be the 11th year of the MOS. DMN’s graffiti wild style has been compared to that of origami or folding paper, although he prefers to call it the “wild onion” style in reference to the indigenous name of Chicago. DMN’s painting style ranges from abstract to illustrative.
