My name is Michael, and I live in the West End of Vancouver, very close to Stanley Park. It’s a gorgeous place to live, and an even better place if you happen to be a photographer. There is no end of inspiration just a few feet from my door: cityscapes and all kinds of architectural opportunities, an almost impossible number of birds and animals, gorgeous landscapes...it’s almost overwhelming. I feel very lucky to live where I do.

How could life get any better?? :-)

My camera is like my third arm, and much to the dismay of some of my friends, I try to take it with me as often as I can. When I think about the enormity of beauty and wonder in the world, of all the things there are to see and experience, I begin to realise how there just isn’t ever enough time to see it all. But I'm gonna do my best to see as much of it as I can, and hopefully share it will as many people as I can!

The world looks, seems different when you look at it through a camera lens. Things that are mundane and almost unnoticeable can suddenly become more beautiful than you could ever imagine. I guess maybe that's why I love photography as much as I do- as an opportunity to see the “unseeable”; or at least to look in a different way at things we sometimes tend not to notice.
