In addition to the various responsibilities of running a household and being a parent, I continue to concept, design, and often write promotion, collateral and advertising for a diverse list of clients which have included Blue Ridge Speech & Hearing, See Forever Foundation, American Girl, and Esprit Events.

  

4/07 - 9/08Partner, FoxHat Music Group

 

Started, funded, and managed the operations of a music publishing company in Nashville. This included monthly trips to Nashville where I was involved in the writing, demo production and pitching of songs to producers, other publishers and record labels. I continued to provide graphic design services for a few clients during this time as well.

  

1995 - 1999 Principal, Miller Creative

 

Ran my own one-man design studio with a group of clients including The Fitness Company, Alberts Interiors, Home Heath Equipment, and HZDG. I was responsible for everything from client meetings, listening, identifying needs, and creating appropriate solutions by conceptualizing, writing, and designing just about anything that involved ink on paper.

  

1989 - 1995 Art Director / Designer, Hirshorn-Zuckerman Design Group

 

Started as the sole employee, and helped the company grow to a staff of ten (they now have 3 offices and nearly 100 employees), of which I art directed and managed most. In addition to being the senior designer, which required juggling several projects at a time, remaining calm, and meeting deadlines, my responsibilities included client meetings, press checks, directing photo shoots, and hiring freelance illustrators, photographers and copywriters. Clients included The Republican National Committee, Chevy Chase Pavilion, and EarthShare.

  

Awards: My work was featured in a variety of books and publications, including Print’s Best Logos and Symbols, Print’s Regional Design Annuals, HOW magazine, and the Art Directors Club of Metropolitan Washington’s Annual Show.
