David is a 1st class Artist whose work bursts with energy, creatifvity and originality. He hooked me with his colorful rendition of supposedly "Ho-Hum" Albany Row Houses. (I was looking for "touristy" and got David! ) Eye-catching, edgy, and a liitle provocative, David's Totally Photoshopped set would look good on Tees, Skater clothes, Hoodies or youth posters.( I see his use of color, design and subject as New York meets California! : ) ) Adding to his transgenerational appeal is his treatment of cemetery statuary. In particular, I am fascinated with David's Soul Hunting group. He takes this common "in-remebrance" experience to a new level by introducing funereal pieces as spiritual "guides" for the still living. David does not "clean-up" his stone subjects , but leaves them gritty and time-worn, just as they are, lichen and all. David often refreshes them with slightly garish, life-like colors ( eg: the small angel with the outstretche palm) or bathes them in various shades( eg: the red angel), evoking a range emotions or "Mood-Swing" in the viewer. I also enjoy his use of the short phrase as a photographic adjunct! But I also like his silences. David makes it rewarding and fun to travel with him! I will continue taking the "journey" with David through his images with enthusiasm and anticipation! Continue to amaze and entertain me, David, and thanks for sharing a bit of yourself and your vision!
