and three great kids

- My wife wrote this (can't you tell from the wife comment above? :> ) - I am too modest to write this!

I do have a lot of bad puns - if you haven't noticed on my titles!

I have been into photography since I was about 9 (my father was into photography) when I taught myself photography with Modern Photography (RIP - you are missed!) and Popular Photography magazine. I used an old Kodak 35 (manual focus by means of estimating distance scale, manual shutter, manual aperture, don't forget to wind or can you say "multiple exposures", no meter) and later got a Canon FTb 35mm SLR. I collected antique cameras (had about 800, but they were lost in a flood! ) when I was younger. Got out of photography because of cost of film and developing. My wife got me back into it because she knew how much I used to do it. I found out about the ability to use adapters on it with old lenses and have a collection of old manual lenses that I used most of the time instead of AF/auto lenses. I have since changed to a Canon 7D, Canon 1Ds, and Olympus OM-D E-M1. I still use techniques and tricks I learned with film. I try to produce the end result in camera as I don't have time to spend a long time learning Photoshop and elaborate editing, just simple tweaks and adjustments.
