I have enjoyed taking photos since I was a teenager and continue to work to improve. I mostly post what I take straight from the camera. I sometimes resort to cropping to remove distractions.
On Flickr, I love seeing what others have captured. I am inspired by what I see. So many wonderful photographers post here. I am happy to say that I can count some of them as my friends.
I do not collect contacts. I tend to block people who ONLY fave but don't have profiles or photos for anyone to see. I also do not automatically add contacts because they add me. I don't participate in groups that require more than one comment per posting. I just don't have the time for that. I try to reciprocate in a timely manner with people who comment on my photos. Flickr hiccups have made it more difficult at times.
Since my husband and I are retired, we have started traveling more. We have an Open Range fifth wheel and take our kitty along. Because I take hundreds of photos to document these journeys, I am far behind in my postings. I try to upload on the road but don't always have internet access.

I started posting here in December, 2007. Doris was one of the very first people to comment on my photos and we have been commenting on each other’s shots ever since. Unlike my own particular focus on birds, Doris is far more eclectic in her photography. I have seen a steady development of technical skill and artistic composition in the wide variety of subjects she shoots. Doris has a great eye for what makes a nice photo and posts lovely images of sometimes commonplace things I always miss seeing myself. Doris is a photographer. I also really enjoy the window into her life that Doris shares through her family and pet shots. Spike rules! Thank you for being such a good friend here Doris.

Let me tell you about this fabulous lady. She may send their storms across the lake; she may be keeping my cat but those things aside. Being that she is not just a cat lover but an animal lover is what first guided me toward her. She allows me to be me, which isn't very capable at times. When I asked her to be a … Read more
Let me tell you about this fabulous lady. She may send their storms across the lake; she may be keeping my cat but those things aside. Being that she is not just a cat lover but an animal lover is what first guided me toward her. She allows me to be me, which isn't very capable at times. When I asked her to be a co adminstator, she hesitated just slightly but took on the task and keeps a good eye on the groups. Because I have EOAD (early onset of Alzheimers Disease) I need someone I could trust and believe in. Doris is bright, smart, intelligent, funny, and non-judgemental, which is important. Her photography is outstanding and widely varied subject matter. The best, in my opinion, are of the animals in her house and in her back yard. SHe's a natural Doris has a heart as big as the world, a smile that doesn't quit and brains I wish I had. Doris, you're terrific. I appreciate you. Elizabeth aka PondInk
