I followed some friends to flickr in August 2007. Initially I uploaded a lot of older digital photos as online backup ; many are from different travels including Hawaii, Europe, Disney theme parks, and US National Parks.
I'm currently on my sixth digital camera. The first we bought was a Nikon E800, our next was an Olympus C750UZ which my ex still uses. We've been very happy with it. Then I won a Nikon Coolpix L4 which is great as it is easy to carry in my purse and it takes pretty good pictures but is slow as molasses in terms of cycle time. I got it for free so I really can't complain much.
In 2007 I bought the Canon PowerShot A640 and I really liked it. Next was a Canon PowerShot G12, which I never really liked as much at the A640, but I'd given that away. January 2014 I advanced to a real SLR... the Canon EOS Rebel SL1. I'm just learning with it, but I sure do love the telephoto lenses.
I want to apologize to all of you kind people who leave comments and don't receive a reciprocal one from me.
Initially I was very diligent about it, but soon I realized that flickr was becoming more of a chore than recreation. It was also affecting my health as I really need to limit my computer time for medical reasons.
When I do comment in a group, I definitely look for my contacts first so that I can comment, but otherwise it is hit or miss as to whether I am able to visit your photostream. I deeply apologize and wonder how so many of you are able to keep up with it all.
I will certainly understand if any of my contacts wish to drop me. Thanks.
