I am an artist known as 'The Napkin Dad' because I draw on napkins using pen & ink and markers. I also do larger drawings using charcoal, colored pencils and graphite. I am also a photographer, mostly photo-collage and Black and White commissioned work. I spent 9 years teaching Drawing and Design before moving into Internet Design and Development where I worked for 14 years. I am now on my own as a full time artist and photographer.
You can find my drawings at www.napkindad.com and my photography here or at www.martycoleman.com

Marty is one of the first artists i become friends with online, over five years ago when i was first starting out in photography. Over the years he's given me amazing advice that I've been so grateful for, support that has helped me immensely, and more than anything the confidence and optimism to keep trying even when I felt like giving up. He's an extremely talented artist with original and interesting ideas; his own unique signature style standing out from the sea of repetition in the art world... I'll be forever grateful for how you helped guide me, Marty. I wish you the best, always.

When I feel frustrated (often in the winter months) with my own photographic pursuits (or lack thereof), I get inspired or at least entertained, by seeing the work of others and I enjoy Marty's work. Well done.

Marty is such an awesome guy! He has a lot of talent and has given me a lot of great advice as a fellow photographer. I really value his opinion because he's so amazing at what he does.
Marty is one of my favorite photographers on Flickr. His talent comes from a deep observation of daily life. Composition is an art form he has taken to the limit and one you can find in every one of his photographs. Sometimes I believe Marty is a camera magician who will in less than a second pull a rabbit out of a hat, and you will never know how he did it.

Marty was commenting on my photos long before I made him a contact. I don't know what took me so long. Now that I have discovered this Digihuman, I find myself dreaming away the hours reading his quirky napkins and visiting his world of velveteen women and children and, frankly, love. Here is a not merely a happy place; it's a thoughtful one. Marty's photo stream is like a fascinating story teller, one who takes you to some odd place in the palm of his hand, then sets you back down, where you were, but forever changed.
