I'll never be an outstanding photographer, but I get a great deal of satisfaction and some pleasure when I look at some of the images I've captured.
I enjoy preserving my world and the people, plants, animals, and other and things which are important to me so that I can hold on to them and keep them near to me. I like to share where I have been and what I have seen with others. It's very encouraging for me when other Flickr members leave positive comments on my photo threads.
My first camera, a Kodak Brownie Holiday Flash was a birthday gift in 1957. I now use a Canon SX50 HS and am trying to learn to use a Canon Rebel XS (DSLR).

I've known diffuse personally for many years now and I can honestly say that she is rarely without her camera. Her passion for photography is depicted in the wide range of her subjects which often include flora & fauna, European travel, cats, grandchildren and most recently macros. diffuse's grown children tease about how she frequently subjected them to photographic sessions. When the grandchildren started to arrive, they became the focus and many beautiful photographs were captured; some may be seen in diffuse's photo stream. Before digital cameras, diffuse would shoot off rolls and rolls of film, and in her home are many photo albums. Her photos have been published in various brochures and other media. Today she has a digital camera and her memory cards are the limit! Not many days go bye without something being captured in time. In my opinion her photos have evolved over the years as more thought is being given to all the aspects that make a photograph excellent. diffuse has been an encouragement in my own photographic development and I enjoy having this passion in common with her. She was responsible for my introduction to flickr and I look forward daily to what's new on her photo stream.
