The very first quality I notice and admire in Johan is his generosity, a virtue too rare to be found even among people I consider good friends. That he is also a dedicated and hardworking artist with a keenly analytical mind are qualities I also deeply respect. Johan goes well beyond simply making stunning photographs – his images instills in us the breathtaking soul of nature and sheer splendors of light in everything, mirror lakes, rolling clouds, pent-up hearts of sensuous flowers, dark old town thoroughfares, and breezes rustling through tops of trees. Johan's art is uncommonly altruistic art in a world so inflated by narcissistic art. I feel incredibly fortunate to have found a Flickr friend in him.

At this time me and diesmali have spent a number of early mornings and late evenings together photographing. To me it feels like a great privilege. As a photographer diesmali has several invaluable characteristics as being careful, patient and having a lot of artistic feeling. In the field he always seems to be ready for new discoveries and - not least - seing them! In picture after picture he's showing the ability to creatively finding and catching the essence of "things". Often I'm impressed by he's doing this in a very simple, sometimes subtle way. His creativity is always looking for new angles, new ideas to express. In diesmali's images the artistic and the documentary dimensions of photography blend very harmonious. As a person and a friend of mine diesmali is a very cool guy with a rare natural humbleness and a very lively curiosity. I hope there will be plenty of excursions to come!
