„Die Bunten“-association is a NGO, which was implemented to face problems of racism and discrimination in Austria. The main target of „Die Bunten“ is to deal with the problems of human and fundamental rights and discrimination based on gender, ethnic origin, religion or belief, against persons belonging to cultural minorities, disability, age or sexual orientation and any combination of these grounds (multiple discrimination). To achieve its aims this association has created two street papers THE GLOBAL PLAYER (until 2009 was Die Bunte Zeitung) - journal for diversity - media for dignity, justice and democracy and We The People -) gazette for global social movements - to inform the majority of the population in migration, integration and diversity topics. Our target is not only the necessity to inform and communicate objectively about phenomena of migration, diversities and integration, but also to analyze the deep implications which these questions emphasize.

The association „Die Bunten“ is cooperating with different institutes, media producers and scientific bodies to provide a good level of the inter- and trans-disciplinary content. Our journalists come from various countries, all over the world. The topics range from politics to entertainment.

From the start THE GLOBAL PLAYER has focused on the Roma and Sinti question. Acting against prejudices towards Roma and Sinti populations they can work as street vendors („street sellers“) of the magazine. But not only them, asylum seekers, mainly from African countries, who are not allowed to work in Austria, as well as Austrian homeless people spread 20.000 pieces of THE GLOBAL PLAYER every two months.

„Die Bunten“-association wants to point out that the quality of any democracy can only be made by evaluating the living conditions of its minorities.
