I have been an artist since birth, I think. Most of my earliest memories involve crayons and paints and pencils and I'm still the happiest and most at peace when I'm creating something. After my wedding a little over a year ago, I sort of fell into photography - it started with a fascination with wedding photography and blossomed into an obsession when I purchased my first DSLR. My two favorite subjects are my niece Riley and my adorable one year old vizsla puppy Max. I'm trying to branch out into wedding photography, so there's a bit of that in my stream as well.

I've never taken a single photography class but I spend most of my free time researching and trying to learn as much about photographic technique as possible, so I'd love to receive any constructive criticism or tips that you'd care to share. Flickr has been such an incredible source of inspiration for me in the nine months since I posted my first photo and I have to thank all of you out there for helping me grow and develop as a photographer.

My Kit:

Canon 20D

50mm f/1.4 (my most favorite lens on earth)

18-55mm kit lens (which I hate and have not used a single time since I bought the 1.4)

I've also rented the 70-200mm f/2.8, which is phenomenal, the 30D, the 580EX speedlite flash, and a 10-22mm wide angle, which will definitely be my next lens purchase. It's not going to happen anytime soon though, because my husband says I'm not allowed to spend one more penny on photography gear until he gets to buy a new guitar. If only we could find guitars that came with free camera lenses we'd be all set...
