When I started in photography in a more serious way, I thought it would be a quick way of doing paintings. Well, it may be 'quicker', but not 'quick' :)

I view photography as an artistic expression, rather than a 'scientific' representation of sheer reality. In the same way as we women might use make-up and accessories to enhance beauty. And note, 'enhance', but not 'distort'.

However, photography is not real painting on canvas... which means that the link to reality is stronger.
