I think of photography as an outlet. I used to see things all the time that maybe someone missed, or didn't understand when I described it. I started photographing these things and became more interested in the activity.

I am a relative beginner and see flickr as a way of learning new techniques and ideas quickly. Comments are always welcome on how I could have taken a better shot!

Equipment that I actually use (I have tons that I don't!):

- A beautiful old Nikon Fe2 with 1.4 Nikkor 50mm lens (recently pulled out of the cupboard- For me, this is the one)

- A Nikon D70s with 35mm f1.8 afs and occasionally 18-70mm lens (Great DSLR but no match for the FE)

- A gorgeous Nikkor 85mm F2 AIS manual lens

- Iphone with instagram app (for those occasions when lugging my D70 is simply not possible)

- A load of Portra 400 and Tri-X (Film is back in a big way! Use the digital trend to your advantage is what I say!)

- An Olympus XA2

- A Ricoh GRD III (The only digital camera I have felt happy with the handling of - just needs a proper viewfinder)
