I started out, like most of us, as a self-taught photographer. I learned with my first SLR, a manual Canon AE-1 (a gift) in the late 80’s. It broke and I couldn't afford to fix it, so I purchased a Canon Rebel SII in the early 90’s. I then decided to try learning photography "the right way", so I took some courses in college and did some work as a portrait photographer; but eventually I learned that I didn’t have the talent to make much money from my photos. It’s now simply a hobby I really enjoy. If I like it and it captures my attention, I’ll try to capture it with my camera.
