A photograph is a most important document, and there is nothing more damning to go down to posterity than a silly, foolish smile caught and fixed forever. -Mark Twain
I started with an Olympus Camedia 4040 and moved to a DSLR D80 September 2006 when I became frustrated by the limits of my old P&S. I currently shoot with a Nikon D750 and a Leica M9. A couple more Nikons in between all of it.
I tend to mix my family pictures in with the landscape, stills and macros I do. Since some family members don't have flickr accounts, the rest of you get subjected to them too.:)
In case the stream didn't make it obvious, I'm also a big home baker. I have the attitude that if I can make 1 batch of something, I might as well make 4 and share. Plus I can take pictures of the results when they are good.
The obligatory lens list:
Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8
Nikkor 14mm f/2.8D AF
Nikkor 50mm f/1.4D AF
Nikkor 55mm f/2.8 Micro Manual Focus Lens
Nikkor 85mm f/1.8D
Nikkor 105mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S VR Micro
Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S VR Zoom
I also have for those occasions that the big camera and lens isn't welcome, a Leica D-Lux 4 that I'm fast coming to realize is a pretty sharp little piece of equipment. (Update: The D-Lux was stolen in 2016 and I now have a Verilux instead. I miss the 4 something fierce.
And now I have an M9! Coolest camera ever from my biggest fan. Lenses for this are much slower in coming, for some reason.:)
I'm lucky enough to have a spouse that encourages my love for photography and for the I am always grateful. He also has a flickr account where he puts up the pictures he takes when he travels.
Please, please, please don't post invites with flashy bits or giant graphics. I don't join a lot of flickr groups and posting a graphic with an invite is not really a comment.
Online since 1989, first via BBS, so there also may be a streak of internet curmudgeon in me.
