Here is a photographer with a very special eye, creative imagination and huge technical ability. Desmond Kavanagh's photos are a just that little bit out of the ordinary, not so many cutie pets or sugary sweet scenes to be found here. But certainly a photographer with something more serious to say through his creative composition, strong lighting with full saturation, beautiful tonal ranges and punchy contrast. Desmond's artistic talents are not confined to the one medium, but he shows equal skill with either monochrome or colour and appears happy in using both mediums to create his works. For me, it was a joy as well as an inspirational and rewarding experience to have come across the work of Desmond Kavanagh, and I'm sure, with a little time spent in viewing his photostream one could not help to experience or fail to appreciation this man's work.
