I used to be a full-time technical and commercial photographer. Nowadays I only take pictures for fun, art, and the occasional paying gig if it is interesting enough. I have a long-standing interest in astronomy, and make most of my money from astronomy-related software development. I'm currently working on a PhD in computing science, or mathematics, depending who you ask.

I'm using Flickr as a dumping ground for all sorts of photos. I take a lot of fun and games pictures with a Canon S400, which is a P&S the size of a cigarette pack, and with my crappy camera phone.

My more serious stuff I shoot with digital SLRs, occasionally with slide or print film, and at times with digital medium format backs. I compose and envision almost everything to be printed at 12x18 inches or larger, and I do most of my own printing.
