Started taking the odd railway photo in the late 1970s with a 110mm Mars Bar camera. Got my first SLR a Pentax MG for Christmas 1983 and took my first (poor quality) pictures in January 1984. I steadily began to improve and understand how the camera worked. This camera was replaced with a Pentax P30N after the MG was stolen on a train after falling asleep while on an all line rover. The most annoying part was the loss of the pictures as I had been to the Isle of Wight the previous day and captured phots of the 1923 stock and the 1938 stock operating services side by side. This could not be repeated. Other interested took over during the mid 90s still taking a passing interest but very little photography. In 2007 I got my first DSLR a Pentax K10D and regained my interest. This was later replaced with a Pentax K5-II. My first camera was a Pentax and I have not moved away as I like the results and the only problems that have occurred have been of my making rather than the equipment.
I also have a drone I use occasionally.
I have lived in a number of locations in the UK, North West England, South Wales and currently the Highlands of Scotland. I am also a member of the Phoenix Railway Circle.
This website is currently a work in progress. I will add more photos as time permits and try to get round to adding captions but that will take some time. Any questions please get in touch.
