At the age of 15 I started taking pictures with my grandfather's camera, a Hapo 35. White water sports was my first focus, street photography and close ups for a very long time my second.

A few years ago I switched to nature photography, mainly landscapes and still subjects in focus. I prefer to roam through my adopted home of the Lower Rhine and discover here again and again new biotopes, natural forests and other natural areas - even if they are often very small. I'm always drawn to the Berchtesgaden National Park, partly because my son lives nearby.

After switching to my current equipment, I increasingly target animals in the wild, especially the waterfowl of the Lower Rhine fascinate me.
