King Nile

I am-

Some might call my profession-

A Barbaric Throwback-

Pawns of the Oppressor-

Baby Killer's(At least that's what they called my dad in his time)

Robert Frost speaks of my profession in words far more expressive or imaginative than I could ever string together therefore-

He is that fallen lance that lies as hurled,

That lies unlifted now, come dew, come rust,

But still lies pointed as it plowed the dust.

If we who sight along it round the world,

See nothing worthy to have been its mark,

It is because like men we look too near,

Forgetting that as fitted to the sphere,

Our missiles always make too short an arc.

They fall, they rip the grass, they intersect

The curve of earth, and striking, break their own;

They make us cringe for metal-point on stone.

But this we know, the obstacle that checked

And tripped the body, shot the spirit on

Further than target ever showed or shone.

Now with that out of the way I am -____- and therefore most if not all of my public pictures will be with a US Military twist because to me what I do is part of what I am and and who I am. until I retire from this job or this world( while performing my job) most of my pictures will be from my heart and work and to answer your question my work is my heart because I love what I do and while sometimes what I do is not pretty there are those moments where I feel that I personally have made a small difference in someone's life. That being said my second most favorite subject is the family that my chosen profession in it's devilish; (but in the grand scheme of things necessary) fashion tends to keep me away from for extended periods of time. So if you become a contact with me and end up corresponding with me on more than a passing note then I will in all likelihood make you a friend and then you will be able to see photos of my favorite subjects who are of course members of my family, my second most favorite subject after the strange and interesting places and people that I come into contact with due to my profession. So anyway now that I've waxed (in my opinion) most eloquently and supposing that you've actually read this far down in my profile description. I hope that you enjoy the pictures and that you take the opportunity to become my friend so that you can truly see the two sides of my personality because there is Work Nile and Play Nile and while they both inhabit the same body in some ways Work and Play Nile are two separate people. I like to think of myself as a person that takes great "action/interesting" shot (read "work") as well as the guy who is trying to become a great portrait photographer but as I have said before and will say again on various people's pictures I am a very unimaginative person, so I doubt that the next great pose/ idea will be from me although if I get lucky it may be re-shot with a slight twist that is all me, but we'll see- Hopefully if you've read this far you'll forgive me for my ramblings and will not hold it against my shots. I suppose I should throw this out there despite the fact that I think that it should be obvious I am not a professional or even an amateur photographer. I am as I first described and all the thoughts of( a footsore, dirty, tired, persevering, or my favorite US Army quote picture- Of an 11B (Infantryman) from WWII Saying, "I'm the 82nd Airborne Division and This Is As Far As The Bastards Are Going." And despite the fact that our jobs are different they are the same. I endure the same hardships he does with an added benefit/icing of a language barrier. It was apparently a recruiting poster during the 1970's (just in time to cloud my mind and judgment) Those recruiter's must have access to a time machine/Ouija board because they (and pardon my use of the vernacular) Sho' nuff! seen me comin' an' had jus the right ting ta say ta' me.

Well here I am and hopefully you like my pictures and if you happen to be a "peacenik" don't hold my profession against me when judging my photographs(LOL)
