I am actually an imaging "professional", only that I do not work with standard media or equipment. Cameras and film are for entertainment only; I use lasers and microscopes for my actual work. Maybe some day I'll post some images of my work here, including some pics of the equipment we use.

For a while I shot mostly with Contax rangefinders, Pentax ME and a Contaflex Super B. The digital/autofocus cameras were used primarily to shoot my grandson, because the kid could not stay put in the same position for more than 3 seconds. And then I took a documentary photography class, and I could not do the assignments in time using film. Thus, I started doing some digital using a micro 4/3 format. I became very fond of the M43 system. More recently, I started using a Nikon D750 and the Sonys and went back to the more familiar 36x24 format.

I left Flickr for about 6 years. I came back in 2026 to find a very changed Flickr. My old groups have not had any discussion posts in weeks, months or years. The new uploads are saturated with AI images, screenshots of video games, and all kinds of shite that IS NOT photography, or art of any kind. Disappointing. I will let my Pro account expire after this year and I am not planning to return. Thank you, new Flickr owners, for fucking up an otherwise great platform.
