I am a Southern male who can't quite believe that he's approaching 40 years old. Thankfully, I don't have to act like I'm forty! I'm in love with and loved by the smartest, sweetest, funniest, and downright sexiest chick in the Milky Way, and even though we've been together going on 12 years, I still get a little thrill every time I see her. Whatever good exists in me is there because of her. She is the culmination of all things kind and caring, beautiful and alluring, and she has made of me a man whose very life is hers to do with as she will. For her, I strive to master the world. To badly misquote grouchy old Nietzsche, "Life without Love would be a mistake." As for hobbies, in addition to photography and painting, I love to write, and to collect and repair old watches, books, and get into anything else that catches my fancy. Lately, I've been making watchbands from old military ammo pouches, belts and the like. At least that's what I tell people I'm doing. Actually, I'm ruining perfectly good militaria while cutting, hammering, and spearing myself with a frequency that is becoming alarming. I'm a voracious reader and television hater. I read mostly medieval and ancient history, fiction in the vein of H.P. Lovecraft, John Wyndham, and other masters of the "weird" genre. I love the modern authors Italo Calvino, Umberto Eco, Cormac McCarthy, and "gasp" Stephen King! As for music, it's Hard bop jazz, Vocal Jazz a la Peggy Lee, Lena Horne, Claire Martin, Paris Combo, etc., Bossa Nova, Chanson a la Henri Salvador, ambient/drone / a bit of classical / much grindcore (Hail, Agathocles because they practice what they preach and strive to make the world a better place. Pick up Thanks for Your Hostility or Superiority Overdose by way of introduction to their music.) and black metal, more than a handful of old school punk, and classic country. I'm an animal lover of the first order, a dad to numerous cats and dogs, a vegetarian and a hunting, zoo, and circus opponent. Hard to know where to end!
