I am an artist living in Brooklyn, NY. I have worked in various media over my career, primarily in painting. I've also experimented with other forms, including kinetic sculpture, and collage/montage.

The art of collage is the perfect channel for making concrete intersections in imagery that spontaneously arises that would defy paint. I blend classical and icon images with commercial and contemporary, with an inclination towards revision-ing old constructs of culture and society, particularly with regard to the Feminine and concepts of power. The resulting images are virtually self-composed: all I can do is approach the waiting material with a razor, an eager eye, and a receptive mind. The pieces then present themselves to me.

For a period of time, I lost the ability to use my hand, and it was out of pure frustration and a compulsion to still create images that I began to rely on the iphone pano app as my new tool. I couldn't manipulate a razor to compose and edit images on paper, but I could use hold the iphone in one hand and turn my eye to other stimuli.

These collages are not individual photos That is to say, I do not shoot pictures and then "stitch" them together in, say, Photoshop.

The panoramas are composed as they are shot. It is the combination of interesting subject matter, and fortuitous timing of shooting, that yields the serendipitous results. Lacking manual agility, I rely on my eye and my in-situ editing skills to render each panorama as complete.
