As a starting-point for my work I took the cross, not only because I could use it as a carrier (like I use canvas to paint on) but also for its symbolic value in general.

This ancient symbol evokes something positive or negative and tells us something about our history, our education, our cultural and social background and so about ourselves.

It's my opinion that everybody has to carry his own cross: human, animal, nature, countries,... yes even mother earth!

It's the task of every artist to hold a mirror in front of every spectator so he can judge in freedom.

Short note about my course of life:

I was born in Antwerp in 1968 where I graduated from high-school. I studied graphic design in Brussels, fashion design and painting in Antwerp.

Afterwards I followed my own way in the world of art and so I made my first “cross-objects” in 1996.
