The major responsibility the Development Export Agricultural (DEA) is to make necessary actions to development the Export Agricultural Crops. As officially defined the crops that are perennial in nature other than Tea, Rubber, Coconut and Cashew, where Over fifty percent of their annual production is exported or any crop what is named by the Minister in-charge to be included for department purview are classified as EAC. Under this classification DEA s’ main emphasis is paid to traditional crop such as Cinnamon, Pepper, Cardamom, Clove, Nutmeg, Coffee, Cocoa, Citronella, Betel, Arecanut, etc. as well as new crops with export potential such as Lemon grass, Vanilla, Kitul, Rathambala banana.
