When I was in high school I fell in love with my art and photography courses, so much that I cut all of my other classes to play in the darkroom. I didn't have a fancy camera to work with, I mostly invested in large numbers of disposables. I still managed to put together a fairly impressive portfolio which I took everywhere with me. It was one of my most prized posessions.

In Dec. '99, I was hit by a drunk driver and my car was totalled. My portfolio was in the trunk, which by that point was nolonger visable. I had lost everything. Negatives and all. It was discouraging to think that I would never be able to re-create any of the pieces that I was so proud of. I'm not sure why I gave up on it all after that, but I just did.

Still everywhere I went, I would start still framing everything in my head. Over the past couple of years, the "itch" was coming back and I started considering the idea that... no, I will never be able to re-create the moments I had lost, but what the hell made me believe that there were no more to be captured?

I also have to thank the inspiratin that I got from watching a friend of mine and her passion for photography. It all came back, and I couldn't ignore it anymore.

Just this year (2010) I decided to spoil myself and purchased a Canon Rebel Xsi, and I couldn't be happier. My first legit camera! I invested in a couple lenses, and now have decided that I should take myself and my "eye" a little more seriously.
